Repair Warranty

Last updated: October 15, 2026

Every repair we perform at Smart Mobile is covered for 30 days on parts and labor. This page spells out exactly what that means, because a warranty you have to guess about is not much of a warranty.

What's Covered

If a part we installed fails on its own within 30 days of your repair, bring the device back and we will repair or replace it at no charge to you. That includes:

  • A replacement screen that develops dead pixels, dead touch zones, flickering, or separation from the frame
  • A replacement battery that will not hold a charge or drains abnormally fast
  • A charging port, camera, speaker, or microphone we installed that stops working
  • Any workmanship issue — a loose part, adhesive that did not hold, a screw left out

No receipt hunting required. We keep a record of your repair; just bring the device and tell us your name.

What's Not Covered

The warranty covers our work and our parts. It does not cover new damage, which is a different thing:

  • New physical damage — a fresh crack, a bend, or impact damage after the repair
  • New liquid damage — water or other liquid entering the device after the repair
  • Pre-existing conditions we warned you about — if we told you before the repair that the board was already corroded or a component was marginal, that is outside the warranty
  • Software issues unrelated to the hardware we touched, including app problems, OS updates, and iCloud or account lockouts
  • Work done by someone else — if another shop or you opened the device after our repair, we cannot stand behind what happens next
  • Water resistance after a liquid-damage repair — once a device has been water damaged, no repair can restore a reliable seal, and we will not claim otherwise

Water Resistance on Screen Repairs

For iPhone screen replacements on undamaged devices, we replace the perimeter adhesive seal using Apple-certified tooling, which restores the device's original water resistance rating. This is a step many shops skip. That said, water resistance is never a guarantee against liquid damage on any phone, new or repaired — manufacturers themselves exclude liquid damage from their warranties. We restore the seal; we do not promise the device is waterproof.

Data Is Your Responsibility

We do not back up your device, and we are not liable for data loss during a repair. Most repairs do not touch your data at all, but hardware work always carries some risk — particularly on devices that are already failing. Please back up your device before dropping it off. If you cannot because the device will not turn on, tell us, and we will treat data preservation as a priority and discuss options with you first.

Manufacturer Warranties

Smart Mobile is an independent repair shop. We are not an authorized service provider for Apple, Samsung, or any other manufacturer, and we are not affiliated with them. If your device is still within its manufacturer warranty or an extended plan like AppleCare, a third-party repair — ours included — may affect that coverage on the repaired component.

We will tell you this up front rather than after the fact. If you are inside a manufacturer warranty window, ask us and we will honestly compare your options, including going to the manufacturer instead of us.

Devices Left Behind

Devices left at the shop more than 60 days after we notify you that the repair is complete — or after you decline a repair — may be considered abandoned and disposed of or recycled. We will make a reasonable effort to reach you at the phone number you gave us before that happens.

Questions?

If something about your repair is not right, the fastest path is to call us at (504) 287-4419 or walk in. We have been in Kenner for twelve years on a 5.0 rating, and we did not get there by arguing with customers over warranty terms.
